Months ago, when I announced the first Motivate Summit in Salt Lake City, I was scared. Motivate SLC was the first meet up dedicated solely to behavior change in the fitness industry and the first public UNconference in our industry as well. So not only was it new, not only was it weird, it was new and weird! But I shouldn’t have been scared. One of the principles of Motivate is “the right people show up.” And man, did the right people show up. 41 of the most outstanding professionals showed up and spontaneously created 30 sessions on habits, community, empathy, mission statements and more. They asked the hard questions, listened to people they had only just met, and worked hard into the night to make this world a little better than how they found it. And before the day was done this group of strangers formed the most creative and open community in our professions, dedicated to helping the most people help the most people.
The community that has come out of Motivate SLC has been special and we want to invite you to join in our conversation. So today we are announcing a full slate of Motivate Summits for 2015.
We are also opening Early Bird Ticket sales for the second Motivate Summit, Motivate NYC on February 21st, 2015. The event will take place at Mark Fisher Fitness, a ridiculously wonderful space that can accommodate only 50 attendees, so you’re really gonna want to grab your tickets quickly.
Motivate NYC is the only opportunity on the East Coast to meet the other amazing coaches who think like you and talk about the biggest problem facing our clients: The other 167 hours a week they aren’t with us. It’s also the only public UNconference in the fitness industry, so the only opportunity for anyone with passion to stand up and be heard by an audience of their peers. And it’s really close to a Shake Shack.
There is a sea-change happening in health and wellness and the Motivate Summits are your chance to truly make a difference in your clients’ lives. The opportunity is here, the community is welcoming, and as we tell our clients, all you have to do is show up.
